I am reading “Ninefox Gambit” by Yoon Ha Lee and mighty strange and wonderful it is. He doesn’t bother with much in the way of exposition and you are left to figure out “calendrical rot” and other mysteries, more or less by yourself. This aids immersion, rather than hinders it, oddly enough!
